Webinar on Most Significant Change

Not all meaningful change comes with tidy indicators. Some of the most powerful results in development like empowerment, mindset shifts, community ownership, and changes in social norms are deeply significant but difficult to measure.

This webinar dives into the Most Significant Change (MSC) technique, a participatory, story-based approach to evaluation that captures impact through the lens of lived experience.

You’ll walk away with practical skills to document change as people experience it, even when it’s messy, non-linear, or unexpected.

Objectives of the Session

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

✅ Understand the core principles and steps of the Most Significant Change technique

✅ Explain when and why MSC is useful (and when it’s not)

✅ Identify practical strategies for collecting and analyzing MSC stories

✅ Facilitate participatory story selection with stakeholders

Intended Audience

This session is designed for M&E professionals, programme designers, donor partners, and development practitioners working in complex environments—such as gender justice, advocacy, policy influence, climate action, community development, or social innovation.

No advanced statistics required—just curiosity, humility, and a desire to centre people’s voices in how we understand change.”
